Fertility treatment in Ukraine during Covid-19 travel restrictions
In March 2020, there was a precedent when foreign patients could not travel to Ukraine for several months to pick up their children born through surrogacy. At that time, the country had been struggling with such a serious pandemic for the first time and was not ready to regulate the entry of the patients coming for newborns at the legislative level.
However, the Ukrainian government subsequently decided to allow foreign nationals, who had been invited by a medical institution, to come across the border for medical treatment or to pick up the child from a medical facility.
In the context of the recent lockdown in January 2021, there were no precedents of the inability of foreign patients to come. Now, even if Ukraine imposes a lockdown, foreign patients of medical facilities are free to cross the border. The only condition is that they need to have a PCR test 48 hours before arrival, as well as an insurance policy for Covid-19.
A special attention should be paid to the requirements of the countries where you make a transfer to the flight. Their demands may differ from those existing in Ukraine.
In Ukraine, adaptive quarantine measures are currently in effect until April 24. There is also a possibility that they may be prolonged. But clinics, hotels, supermarkets, groceries, shops, restaurants, indoor sporting venues and cinemas stay open.
The hotels follow all the rules to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
